What we do

EngiFormula publishes free calculators for civil engineering and construction work: quantities, slopes, pipe flow, materials and more. Each calculator is a full reference page with the answer, the calculator, an explanation of the result, a worked example, the method and formulas, reference tables, frequently asked questions and the sources used.

Who it is for

Engineers, technicians, estimators, contractors, students and homeowners in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and elsewhere. Calculators work in US customary and metric units.

How we build calculators

Every calculator follows a written specification, uses stated formulas and cited sources, is recalculated separately before release and is covered by automatic tests. The full process is on our methodology page.

What our calculators are not

They give information and preliminary estimates. They are not professional design advice and do not replace the governing code, product instructions or a qualified professional for your project. See the disclaimer.
